Shruthi Kadiyala

Toddler Apprentice Teacher

Shruthi was born in India and grew up in 6 different cities across 3 countries. This diverse experience has enriched her outlook and enhanced her ability to adapt to various new situations. She finds that working with young children is full of surprises!

Shruthi completed the Early Childhood Development certificate coursework at Durham Technical College in May 2021. She has been working with children — growing and learning alongside them — since that time. Shruthi became intrigued by the Reggio Emilia teaching philosophy and began volunteering at Wildflower Cottage in Fall 2023. She has spent time in all three classrooms and finds joy in each stage of development.

In her free time, Shruthi enjoys music, playing the piano, listening to music, and reading.

Fun Facts:

  • Shruthi has tremendous knowledge about British royalty.  If you ask her anything about the royal family, she will likely know the answer.
  • Shruthi saw Queen Elizabeth II in person while she was in primary school in England.

“Education is the ability to listen to almost anything without losing your temper or your self-confidence.”
