Shelby Baker

Floating Support Teacher

Shelby’s hometown is Hillsborough, NC. She has always loved learning! She graduated from high school with honors, immediately pursued an AAS degree in Early Childhood Education, and has already committed to sharing this love of learning with young children for several years. Shelby feels rewarded when she can support a child as they embrace their own unique personality and interests. She believes that the opportunities for nature exploration and creation at Wildflower Cottage align well with her personal philosophy of education.

Shelby first met her husband in the 4th grade, lost contact with him, reconnected years later, married, and started a family when her son was born in October 2022. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, listening to music, drawing, planning/budgeting, and coordinating parties and vacations.

Fun Facts:

  • Shelby is left-handed.
  • Shelby was born on an infamous date in history–9/11.

“Never give up, no matter what may set you back, and know that at the end of the road, you’re going to have something that you can be proud of.”
