Barbra Laird
Music Instructor
Barbra is happiest when she is enjoying activities with her husband and three sons.
But, running a close second is sitting on the floor with a circle of children! Some of her earliest memories include singing favorite songs with her sisters in the car, at church, and during playtime. As Barbra sings and laughs with children now, she observes the difference that music education can make in their development. Just as important, however, is the way the music brings aesthetic beauty into their lives.
Barbra loves Wildflower Cottage because it is a happy place that tries to “follow the child” in the most genuine way. The learning environment provides children with the freedom to explore, create, and grow at their own pace. She loves that school readiness skills are intertwined with play, wonder, and joy. Barbra has a long personal history of supporting senior adult friends; she is a passionate advocate for weaving intergenerational experiences into the life of Wildflower Cottage.
Barbra was a part of Wildflower’s founding team. She is a certified Kindermusik Educator and has been providing music enrichment programs at libraries, preschools, childcare centers, and elementary schools since 2000.
