Emma Day
Classroom Teacher, Preschoolers
Emma was born in Fredericksburg, Virginia but grew up in Franklinton, North Carolina. She studied Child Development with a concentration in Family and Child Studies and a minor in Psychology at Appalachian State University. One day, Emma hopes to pursue a Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders, with a desire to do Speech/Language Pathology with children. From a young age, Emma always had an interest in working with children. She fondly remembers playing “school” with her dolls and pretending to be the teacher. Today, she loves to see a child’s awe when they discover something new in their world. Emma believes that all children are competent and capable human beings, able to learn from and teach those around them.
Emma’s hobbies and interests seem to be constantly changing, but she has recently enjoyed snowboarding, discovering new waterfalls, and embroidering. Trivia facts about Emma: she was homeschooled K-12 and has been part of a bluegrass band.
