Audrey Keen

Toddler Classroom Teacher

Audrey is from Huntersville, NC.  She graduated from NC State University with a B.S. in Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Biology.  She worked with a zoo, a wildlife center, and even a mollusk lab before she realized that her calling may center around young children.  She is currently working toward an Early Childhood Education Certificate and a North Carolina Environmental Education Certificate.

Audrey shifted her focus toward education, working with multiple age groups in licensed programs and developing a nature curriculum for young learners.  When she discovered the nature-based, Reggio-inspired philosophy, it resonated with her belief that children thrive when they are given open-ended opportunities to grow.  Audrey wants children to feel heard, validated, and safe.

Audrey’s hobbies include reading and spending free time with her husband and five pets.

• Audrey is learning to surf!
